What is a Burn Cake? Burn Cakes are the trending internet cakes where you set the top layer on fire to reveal a picture underneath.
The top layer is made from edible wafer paper. You set this on fire to reveal an image underneath, which is the frosting sheet. This layer soaks into your frosting over time and won't burn off.
How do I apply these? So easy to do! Ice your cake, remove blacking and place your frosting sheet down while it's still fresh and wet. This will help it blend into icing as it sits. Pipe a Double border, one on top of the other to give the top layer lift to be able to burn. Place you Wafer topper on border. There is no backing on wafer paper, these are ready to be used. Once placed on Border, Pipe yet your final border to seal. That's it!
We suggest to clear away any of the burnt charred pieces that may have landed in the middle of the cake before serving.
Burn Layer/Wafer Paper Sheet: have no backing like frosting sheets. They are slightly translucent but the colors pop once placed on a white background. Can be used on Frosting, Royal Icing, Fondant, Gum Paste & White Chocolate. They are ready to go out the package. They are a cheaper, easier alternative to Frosting Sheets when in the need to make A lot of treats.
Reveal Layer/Frosting Sheet: are a thick quality Edible Paper made of sugar and have a backing that needs to be removed before application . They are a little harder to use than Wafer paper but are not translucent and are best suited for an application that you need the picture quality to be superb.
